Carol Ann Franzeskos
Carol Ann Franzeskos, 71, of Gold Canyon, Ariz., and formerly of Kearney, Mo., lost the battle with cancer surrounded by family on June 1, 2016.
Carol was born March 18, 1945 in Maryville, Mo., and raised in Hopkins, Mo. Carol graduated from North Nodaway High School in Hopkins, Mo., and moved to Kansas City in 1963. On March 21, 1964 Carol was married to Jimmie Franzeskos of Northeast area.
She had a life long love of playing and teaching piano and played for 10 years each Sunday at the Baptist Church of Gracemore. In the 1990's Carol earned her private pilots license flying her Piper Cherokee and taking the family on regular trips to Lake of the Ozarks. Carol was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a soothing smile and a gentle touch that made everyone feel comfortable and at ease. The grandchildren adored her and called her "Mams".
Preceding her in death were her mother and father, Mabel Kathryn "Kay" and Chalmers Forney.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmie Franzeskos of Gold Canyon, Ariz.; four sons, Vince Franzeskos of Flatonia, Texas, James Franzeskos of Holt, Mo., Dannie Franzeskos of Hamilton, Mo., and Nick Franzeskos (Carissa) of Kearney, Mo.; six grandchildren, Cody, Ben, Halli, Brooke Tayor, Blake, and Sherry Ann; three great grandchildren, Koltyn, Marley Jo, and Easton; five brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney, Mo. Service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at the funeral home, with burial following at Fairview Cemetery, Kearney, Mo.
