Carl L. Hale

Carl L. Hale, 85, of Kearney, Mo., died Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation, Richmond, Mo. Mr. Hale was born March 24, 1927, in Excelsior Springs, Mo., the son of Archie and Sadie Sloan Hale. On October 30, 1948 in Excelsior Springs, Mo., he married Frances Carol Meador. She passed away May 5, 2006.

They lived in Excelsior Springs before moving to Kearney in 1969. While in Kearney Carl and Frances owned and operated the Hale Propane Company. In 1978, they moved to the Lake of the Ozarks, where they lived for 14 years before returning back to Kearney.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bert Hale, and sister, Ruby Colbin.

He is survived by a daughter, Carla Harmon and her husband, John, Kearney, Mo.; two sons, Steve Hale and his wife, Nancy, Houston, Texas, and Mike Hale and his wife, Wanda, Kingston, Mo.; grandchildren, Scott Hale, Melanie Chezem, Angie Reneau, and Kaleb Wade; great grandchildren, Hunter Reneau, Addisen Chezem, and Lance Reneau, Zachary Chezem, Lilyana Wade, Ella Wade, and Emery Chezem; brother, Bob Hale; and sister, Grace Arnold.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday April 30, 2012, at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney, Mo. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home, prior to services. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Kearney. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Habitat for Humanity or the Liberty Women’s Clinic.
