Charles Sweet
Charles P. Sweet, 91, Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away January 26, 2012 at his home. Mr. Sweet was born March 27, 1912 in Freemont, Neb., to Charles and Carrie (Jensen) Sweet. Mr. Sweet retired from the U.S. Navy after 22 years of service. He later worked as a plant manager in a foundry, worked construction, and farmed.
Mr. Sweet was preceded in death by his wife, Florence, a daughter, and his parents. He is survived by three sons, Charles Weet of Salem, Ore., Ronald Sweet of Lake Carroll, Ill., and Robert Sweet of Verona, Wisc.; brother, Jerry Sweet of Lawson, Mo.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday, February 1, 2012, with full military honors. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, Mo.
