Colleen Isabelle Tweedie
Colleen Isabelle Tweedie, 90, of Liberty, Mo., passed away May 8, 2015. Colleen was born August 11, 1924 in Rockwood, Maine, to Charles and Georgia (White) King, the second of twelve children. On June 8, 1943 she married Earl Robert Tweedie. They were married 64 years before his death in 2007.
Colleen was known as a great homemaker. Her meals were always delicious and everything was “made from scratch”. She loved taking care of her yard, tending to her flowers, and feeding the birds. Colleen also loved to play cards and was known to be very competitive. Colleen and Earl were charter members of the Myakka Pines Golf Club in Englewood, Fla. She was an avid golfer and had been known to play up to four times a week. They were also very active in Military Officers Retirement Association. Most of all, Colleen loved her family. She never forgot birthdays or any special occasions. No mother, grandmother, or great-grandmother could have been more loving or attentive. Colleen also attended Liberty Christian Fellowship Church.
Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and eight siblings.
Survivors include her daughters, Lee T. and Richard Curnow, Sonja T. and Roy Bradeen, and Marcia T. and Ron Reid; grandchildren, Grant and Amy Curnow, Patrick and Tami Curnow, Matthew and Gina Curnow, Adam Curnow, Nathan and Kristina Curnow, Robin and Tim Minder, James Hunt, Kelley and Steve Riley, and Eric and Iraida Reid; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, John and Peggy King, Sheryl Haggan, and Lorraine and Jim Harmon; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Colleen will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Private burial at Fort Leavenworth Cemetery.
