David N. Carey
David Carey, 90, Kearney, Mo., passed away November 1, 2015 at The Baptist Home, Chillicothe, Mo.
David was born in Kearney, Mo., December 2, 1924. He graduated from Kearney High School in 1942. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He retired as a federal worker. He was a member of the V.F.W., American Postal Workers Union, National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees. He was an active member of the Liberty Hospital Auxiliary and Northern Hills Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine, of 69 years; a daughter, Linda Grundhoffer of Danville, Calif.; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Ila Carey, of Liberty, Mo.; and two half-brothers, Tom Carey of Kearney, Mo., and Joe Carey of Bradenton, Fla.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Northern Hills Baptist Church, 17211 NE 180th St. Holt, Mo., with private burial at a later date at Fairview Cemetery, Kearney, Mo. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Northern Hills Baptist Church or The Baptist Home, 500 Baptist Home Lane, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
Arrangements are through Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney.
