Donna Jean Covert
Donna Jean (Larson) Covert was born on April 17, 1931 in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Arthur and Vera Larson. She married Vernard Covert on May 1, 1953 and enjoyed over 43 years together until his passing on August 17, 1996. They were blessed to have six sons.
She was a homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family and enjoyed having them run all over the farm. She enjoyed gardening, horses, crocheting, and taking care of the grandkids. She was loved by all of us and will be greatly missed. She left this world surrounded by her family and walked into the arms of her Savior Jesus and her husband and sons. She was a member of the Lawson Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernard; two of her children, Perry Ray Covert and Terry Covert; and two sisters, Mary Larson and Lillian Frost.
She is leaving behind four sons, Jay Covert, Don (Mary) Covert, Leland (Connie) Covert, and Richard (Connie) Covert; 10 grandchildren, Nikki Allen, Jared Covert, Vernard Covert, Jason Kincaid, Katrina Covert, Jacob Pendleton, Amanda Dunkle, Branden Covert, Amber Covert, and Devon Covert; and many great grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Sandy Egbert and Sue Larson; as well as three brothers, John Larson, Bill Larson, and Bob Larson.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., at the Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, Mo. The service will be at 12:00 p.m. and the burial at the Crown Hill Cemetery following.
