Daniel John Johnson
Daniel John Johnson, Lee's Summit, Mo., passed away April 9, 2016.
Dan was born December 24, 1958 to Robert P. and Patricia A. (Calelly) Johnson in Kansas City, Mo. He was a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say as a Warrior. He was known as Little Lone Grey Buffalo. After earning his college degree, Dan enlisted in the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of Sergeant. His military service took him to Germany were he lived for several years. He really enjoyed seeing the sites of Europe.
His travels continued with his employment in the shipping services working for several different companies, most recently UPS Mail Innovations. His love of travel included many trips to Disney with his beloved daughter, Shelby, and sailing trips to St. Thomas visiting close friend Sherrie Hetzel.
He is preceded in death by a baby brother in 1963.
He is survived by his daughter, Shelby; his parents, Bob and Pat Johnson; a brother, Bob (Teresa) of Kansas City, Mo.; sister, Diane (Stoney) Stebar of Olathe, Kans.; sister, Nancy (Rick) Dye of Independence, Mo.; and nieces and nephews, Ryan, Logan, Megan, Chandler, Nicolas, Bryce and Samantha.
A famous Disney character is quoted as saying, "I think we dream so we don't have to be apart so long. If we're in each other's dreams, we can be Together all the time."
Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m., Friday, April 15, 2016 with Funeral Mass immediately following at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8510 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO 64114.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at RC's Restaurant, East 135th St., Kansas City, MO (Martin City) on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Arrangements are through Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney.
