Darrel Joseph Swinford
Darrel Joseph Swinford, 72, of Holt, Mo., passed away August 18, 2014. Darrel was born April 7, 1942 in Kansas City, Kans., to Marvin and Martena (Jensen) Swinford.
Darrel worked as a supervisor for many years at Kansas City Power & Light. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. Darrel loved to farm, hunt, and spend time with his family.
Darrel was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth, and his father.
Survivors include his mother, Martena Swinford; sons, David and Dan Swinford; daughter, Julie McKinzie; step-daughter, Shannon Leeper; sisters, Arda Kerwin and Marilyn Alldredge; brothers, James Swinford and Kenneth Swinford; nine grandchildren; and his soul mate, Eva Herl.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Excelsior Springs, Mo. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Kearney, Mo.
