Edna C. Green
Edna C. Green, a long-time resident of Excelsior Springs, died Wednesday the 19th of November at Valley Manor Rehabilitation Center due to a stroke and a long fight with Alzheimer’s.
Born in 1919 in Excelsior Springs, Edna loved to cook, sew and refurbish antiques. She was a former member of the Eastern Star and spent years helping her son in farm and 4-H activities. Edna loved to stay busy and even took college courses in her 70”s. She had a full life working in real estate, working at Lake City Ammunition Plant and retiring from Walmart. She was formerly married to Garnet Green and then Kenneth Smoot.
She is survived by her son, William K. Smoot; her granddaughter, Samantha Sheridan; two great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and their children.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, November 24, 2014 at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, Mo. Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery, also in Excelsior Springs. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
