Edna May Holman
Edna May Holman, 103, Lawson, Mo., passed away January 8, 2014.
Edna was born in rural Lawson, Mo., on January 4, 1911 to Anna (Mellon) Clevenger and Johnnie G. Clevenger. She was the oldest of eight children. She married Howard Holman on November 2, 1929. They had two children, James Ross Holman and Anna Louise (Holman) Maddux.
Edna was a homemaker and lived on the Holman family farm until she was 101. Edna was an avid gardener and raised cattle, hogs, and chickens with Howard. Edna was a member of the Canaan Hill Church of the Nazarene where she was Sunday School Superintendent, church secretary and taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a member of The Extension Club.
Survivors include her son, James Ross Holman, and daughter, Anna Louise Maddux, nine grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 27 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, her parents, four sisters and three brothers.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Canaan Hill Church Of The Nazarene, Lawson, Mo., with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. prior. Burial will follow at Old Union Cemetery, Lawson, Mo. The family suggests memorial contributions to the church.
Arrangements are through Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
