Elizabeth Nelson
Elizabeth Nelson, 97, passed away at the New Mark Care Center in Nashua, Mo., on February 6, 2015.
Elizabeth was one of ten brothers and sisters and a 1937 graduate of Kearney High School. She and her husband, Paul, were owners of City Grocery, Kearney Market and Nelsons’ Super of Kearney. Among her activities were sewing, china painting, gardening and travel. She enjoyed painting porcelain dolls and making beautiful clothes for them.
Elizabeth is survived by three children, Charlotte Cates, Shirley Manka and Ted Nelson; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Her family wishes to thank the staff at the New Mark Care Center and the Cross Roads Hospice for their loving care.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 1 p.m. followed by services at 2 p.m. at the Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Kearney, Mo. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Kearney, Mo.
Her family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of your choice.
