Earlwood Shelton
Earlwood Shelton, 86, Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, at his home. Earlwood was born April 29, 1925, to Clarence and Ellen Johnson Shelton in Orrick, Mo. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, a member of the Excelsior Springs Lions Club and an Elder at Woods Memorial Christian Church. In his early career, many knew him as the Manor Bread delivery man and later as an insurance agent for Ozark National Life Insurance. He was also a builder and developer of Shelton Estates.
Earlwood was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Thelma and Leatha.
Survivors include his wife, Louella, of the home; daughters, Vickie Earline Shelton, Robyn Annette Bradshaw and Aundra Yvonne Hedges and husband, Kevin Ringer; brothers, Edwin and Bobby Dean Shelton; grandchildren, Jennifer, Teasha, Brett, Adam, Caila, Miranda, Rachael, Erica, Adrian and Tyler; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Woods Memorial Christian Church, 417 Concourse, Excelsior Springs. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 6, also at the church. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Excelsior Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to Woods Memorial Christian Church.
