Edwin Summers
Edwin Roy Summers, 92, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009. Edwin was born Aug. 5, 1917, in Prathersville, Mo., to Roy and Nancy Hart Summers. He was an accountant for the Corps of Engineers, a U.S. Army Air Force veteran and a member of the Church of Christ in Kansas City, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Julia; and a son, Charles. Survivors include his wife, Norma, of the home; son and wife, Douglas and Marion Summers, Wisconsin; brother, Paul Summers, Paola, Kan.; sister, Vern Lee Tester, Liberty, Mo.; three grandchildren, Ryan, Scott and Andrew; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Crown Hill Cemetery in Excelsior Springs. Friends may call from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs.
