Florine B. Caine
Florine B. Caine, 83, of Kearney, Mo., passed away October 2, 2016 in Kansas City, Mo.
Florine was born February 11, 1933 in Ringgold, Ga., where she resided until her marriage. She married George Milton Caine and moved to the Kansas City area. George and Florine were married 61 years. He preceded her in death on September 8, 2013.
Florine and George operated Caine Real Estate in Kearney, Mo., from 1967 until 1983. She worked for Coldwell Banker after selling Caine Real Estate, and then started a real estate appraisal business, retiring in the 1990’s.
Florine was active in the Women’s Council of Realtors and held many positions. She served as the founding president of the Kansas City Northland chapter, Missouri State treasurer, Missouri State governor and Missouri State vice-president before being elected President of the Missouri WCR for the 1985 term.
Florine also served as State director for the Missouri Association of Realtors and as a member on the Kansas City Real Estate Board, the Ethics Council for the Kansas City Real Estate Board, and the MLS Board of Kansas City.
Florine was active in civic affairs. She was a member of the Soroptimist Club, Beta Sigma Phi, Rural Northland Development Association, Kearney Chamber of Commerce, The Red Cross, Scouts, garden club and church committees. She sang in the church choir, taught Sunday school, ran fund raisers for Easter Seals, and enjoyed quilting, golfing, fishing, traveling, and most of all … her grandchildren.
Florine is survived by her children, Sharon Lee Caine Moore (Patrick) and James Milton Caine (Terry); five grandchildren, Stephanie Diane Moore Reed (Jamie), James Michael Caine, Mollie Catherine Moore, Robert Alec Caine (Amanda), Robert Nicholas Caine, Samantha (Matt) Kempf, and Nicholas Kempf.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m., Sunday, October 9, 2016 with services to follow at 2 p.m. at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, burial following at Fairview Cemetery, Kearney, Mo. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
