George M. Caine
George M. Caine, 84, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013. George was born April 21, 1929 in Troy, Kans., to Carl and Mernie (Abel) Caine.
George served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On September 26, 1952, George married Florine Barton in Ringgold, Ga. They were married nearly 61 years. After George’s military service, he worked for Ford Motor Company, retiring as Parts & Material Handling Manager after 30 years. George and Florine founded and operated Caine Real Estate from 1966-1985.
George was also an active member of the Kearney community. He served as Mayor, President of the Lions Club, Deacon at the First Baptist Church, as well as Chandler Baptist Church.
George is survived by his wife, Florine of the home; daughter, Sharon (Patrick) Moore; son, Jim (Teresa) Caine; brother, Charles A. Caine; and grandchildren, Stephanie, Mike, Mollie, Alec, Nick, Samantha and Nicholas.
Visitation for Mr. Caine will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Kearney, Mo. Memorial service will be Friday, September 13, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Kearney with military honors.
