Greg Anthony Kriz
Greg Anthony Kriz, 41, of Independence, Mo., passed away January 20, 2016.
Greg was born October 24, 1974 in Albany, Mo., to Joseph G. and Judy (Gregory) Kriz. Greg was a 1993 graduate of Fort Osage High School. After high school, he received an Associate Degree in Machinist Technology at Maple Woods Community College and later another Associates Degree in Mechanics from Longview Community College. Using these degrees, he started work as a mechanic for Blue Springs Ford. In 2014 he was selected as Best Mechanic in his region and received a trip to Detroit. It was a trip of a lifetime for such a car enthusiast. Greg loved working on cars. He was extremely proud of his 1996 Cobra Mustang that he had totally rebuilt. He also loved going to car shows with his Uncle David, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his sons, Raven and Spencer.
Greg is survived by his mother, Judy Kriz; father, Joseph Kriz; sons, Raven and Spencer Kriz; daughter, Jasmine Brown and grandson, Blaze; sister, Amy Hunholz and nephew, Kristian Reynolds; grandmother, Ruby Gregory; aunts, Rita Gregory and Connie Oppedal; uncle, David Kriz Sr.; and cousins, David Kriz Jr, Clint Janssen, Lance Janssen, and Matthew Janssen. He is also survived by other extended family and many friends.
Greg was a loving son, father, brother and friend. He will be missed.
Memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, February 1, 2016 at New Salem Baptist Church, 1805 N. Blue Mills Road, Independence, Mo.
Arrangements are through Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
