Dr. Gail Morris Vaughn-Nance-Proffitt
On July 31, 2013 we have sorrow in our hearts to announce the passing of Dr. Gail L. Vaughn of Kansas City, Mo.
Dr. Vaughn was born December 15, 1946 to Donald and Margaret Nance in Pomona, Calif. Gail was a Tiger graduate class of 1964, she then attended William Jewell College, UMKC School of Nursing, earning her degree in nursing, Golden State University and Webster University, earning her Doctorate in counseling.
Gail was a remarkable lady with a lot of accomplishments touching many hearts.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, James Vaughn of Kansas City, Mo., and Donald G. Proffitt of Excelsior Springs, Mo.
She is survived by her parents, Donald and Margaret Nance of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; sister, Debra Napier and family of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; son, David and wife, Mandi Proffitt; grandchildren, Greysen and Bryn Proffitt of Overland Park, Kans.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs. A Memorial Service will be 10 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2013, also at the funeral home, inurnment following at Hillcrest Cemetery.
