Gary M. Wermelskirchen
Gary M. Wermelskirchen, 68, of Kearney, Mo., passed away March 5, 2012 at his home. Gary was born February 7, 1944 in Maryville, Mo., the son of Lewis and Claudina Winters Wermelskirchen. He graduated from Maryville High School. He worked for Ford Motor Company retiring in 2003 after 37 years employment. Gary loved to play golf and go fishing with his boys. He was an avid reader and took pride in operating the quilting machine for Roberta. He served in Viet Nam in the 101st Airborne Division.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. He and Roberta would have celebrated 47 years of marriage this May, she survives. He is also survived by his sons and their wives, Michael and Julie, Christopher and Michelle, Sam and Amy; 10 grandchildren; and eight brothers and sisters. The most important things in Gary’s life were his faith, his family and his church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Kearney. Visitation will be held Friday, March 9 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Kearney. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Kearney or The American Cancer Society.
