Helen Crew
Helen Crew, 89, Kearney, Mo. (formerly of Excelsior Springs, Mo.), passed away Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at her home. Helen was born May 7, 1922, in Worcester, Mass., to Thomas and Nellie Barron Kane. She served her country during World War II in the Navy. She later was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, James Crew; daughter, Mary Ellen Shelton; grandson, Scott Shelton; and husband, James Crew.
Survivors include a son, William Crew, Big Sky, Mont.; daughter, Barbara Crew, Kearney, Mo.; grandchildren, Jim, Michael, Chad, Jeff and Olivia; and great-grandchildren, Logan, Alejandra, Mia, Mary Kate, Emilee, Ryder, Phoenix and Daiton.
Memorial services will be held at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 17, at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Kearney. Friends may call from 6 to 7:30 p.m., prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
