Helen L. Griffey
Helen L. Griffey, 90, Kearney, Mo., went home to the Lord August 29, 2014. Helen was born in Kearney, Mo., on August 11, 1924, a daughter of the late George and Addie Mae (Weber) Hall.
She and her husband, the late Vernon Griffey, owned the John Deere Store in Kearney Mo. Helen and Marcia owned the Kearney Flower Shop. Helen was a member of The First Christian Church for a number of years.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert James Hall, a sister, Josephine (Munkirs) Cupito, and daughter, Marcia Wilkerson.
Helen is survived by a daughter, Marylue (Robert) Bowers; a son, Monte (Susan) Griffey; grandchildren, Scott Frick, Amy (Weibel) Peoples, Lisa (Weibel) Ritchie, Jessie Griffey, Brehan Griffey, Jacob Griffey; great grandchildren, Tiffnie (Frick) Chandler, Nicole Frick, Dustin Davidson, Forrest Taylor, Claudia Ritchie, Gabriel Ritchie, Payton Kimberling; and great-great grandchildren, Gracie and Aiden Chandler.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2014 with services following at The First Christian Church of Kearney. Family inurnment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kearney, Mo. at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions to the church or Crossroads Hospice.
