Harry Miller

Harry David Miller, 91, Avondale, Mo., passed away May 7, 2012 at the Missouri Veterans Home. Harry was born October 4, 1920 to David and Allie Miller in Burlington, Kans.

After graduating Emporia, Kans. High School he worked at an aircraft plant in Wichita before joining the United States Coast Guard, serving during WWII. He married Dorothy Jacob. She survives of the home. He retired from KCPL in 1982. Harry enjoyed traveling in the Winnebago and fishing, he was a charter member of the greater Kansas City Chief Winnie Club and National Winnebago Club. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is also survived by his children, son, William and wife, Cathy Miller, of Kearney, Mo.; daughter Connie Miller of Kansas City, Mo., son, David and wife, Kara, of Branson, Mo.; sister, Ruth Campbell of Topeka, Kans.; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012 with service starting at 7 p.m. at the Kearney United Methodist Church, located one mile east of I-35 Hwy. on 92 Hwy. A private family burial will be held in Hillside Cemetery, Emporia, Kans. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Veterans Assistance Fund c/o Missouri Veterans Home, 1111 Euclid, Cameron, MO. 64429.
