Hugh Patchin Jr.
Hugh G. Patchin Jr., 82, Grove, Okla., died Saturday, December 3, 2011 near Grove, Okla., the result of an automobile accident. Born September 14, 1929, she was the son of Hugh G. Patchin Sr. and Ida Mae Patchin. He was a longtime resident of Independence, Mo. He was employed by City National Bank (now UMB) and Central Bank, and was president of the Blue Valley Kiwanis Club. He moved to Stafford, Kans., in 1983 and was vice-president of Farmers National Bank, mayor of Stafford from 1997 to 2005, treasurer of the Quivira Chapter of Ducks Unlimited, first vice-president of the Stafford Lions Club, and a member of the Stafford Chamber of Commerce. He moved to Grove, Okla., in 2009 and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church Grove.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty J. "Cooper" Patchin, in 2005.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes Janet "Jean" Patchin of the home; a son, Steven (Angela Niemeier) Patchin, Independence, Mo.; two daughters, Vickie Patchin, Shawnee, Kans., and Linda (Loren) Crumb, Kansas City, Mo.; step-daughter, Lori (Stu) Mues and their children, Chance and Jacinda, Ravenna, Nev.; and a sister, Patricia (David) Renshaw, Independence, Mo.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2011, with visitation from 12:30 to 2 p.m., prior to the services at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney, Mo. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Kearney, Mo. Memorial may be sent to the Stafford Ministerial Alliance in care of Farmers National Bank, Stafford, Kans., or Trinity Baptist Church, Grove, Okla. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Grove, Okla.
