Iva Irene Zimmerman
Iva Irene Zimmerman (Gathercole) entered into eternal rest on April 9, 2015 at 96 years of age.
Iva joins her parents, Robert and Emma Gathercole; spouse, Charles Zimmerman; children, Donna Pettinger, Randy Zimmerman, Jack Moran and beloved dog ToTo in heaven as they welcomed her with open arms.
She leaves behind her daughters and spouses, Patty (Larry) Buckalew, Linda (Craig) Daniels, Judy (John) Grove and Pam Wright; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She also leaves many friends and family she gained during the past four years living at Oakridge of Plattsburg nursing facility in Plattsburg, Mo.
Iva has been known for being strong willed, feisty and always keeping everyone on their toes. She will be greatly missed. Iva was a member of Hickman Road Church of Christ in Des Moines, Iowa.
A private graveside service will be held at Merle Hay at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Three Rivers Hospice, Platte City, Mo.
Iva’s family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to both the Three Rivers and Oakridge nurses and caregivers that have provided care and dedication during their time with her.
Arrangements are through Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney, Mo.
