JoAnn Fisher, 68, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away August 5, 2015.
JoAnn was born March 19, 1947 to the late Robert and Anna Sue (Parker) Baker in Excelsior Springs, Mo. JoAnn owned and operated the Gold Dust Lounge in Excelsior Springs for a number of years. She was well known as an amazing cook. She also enjoyed sewing and was a member of The American Legion Auxiliary, Freundin Club and Business & Professional Women’s Foundation.
She is survived by her husband, Vaughn Fisher; sons, Stephen (Jen) Coursen, Alan Fisher, Kevin (Cristen) Fisher; daughter, Stephanie (Patrick) Grass; brother, Roger (Linda) Baker; sisters, Vollie (Joseph) Staponski, Haldeen O’Dell (Ron Boehmer), Robin (John) Constant; cousin, Martha (Kennie) Matney; 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the Excelsior Springs VFW #741 Hall. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions to The Excelsior Springs American Legion Auxiliary or Compassionate Care Hospice, 19401 E. 40 Hwy., Suite 130, Independence, MO 64055.
Arrangements are through Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
