Joe Long
Joe Mart Long, 76, Liberty, Mo., died Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at his home. Mr. Long was born Aug. 7, 1935, in Springfield, the son of Leclair and Nell Long. He was a traveling salesman, and retired from Magnetek Universal Electric in 2002. During his retirement, Joe was a regular volunteer at Liberty Hospital, where he logged well over 500 hours.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dottie Kleinbeck Long. Survivors include: his brother, William “Bill” Leclair Long; two sons, Eric and Ben; stepsons, David and Tom; and two grandsons.
Memorial services were scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, June 10, at Liberty United Methodist, with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Arrangements are through Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs.
