Jean Scott Lynch
Jean Scott Lynch, 92, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away Friday, May 29, 2015.
Jean was born February 6, 1923, in Cowgill, Mo., to Charles W. and Grace (Griffey) Scott. On November 1, 1947 she married Olin Lynch in Chillicothe, Mo. Jean worked for many years in the offices of Dr. Robichaux and Dr. Sanders. She later worked for Green Valley Farms as a bookkeeper. Jean was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, served for many years on Excelsior Springs Cemetery Board, and from age 8 on was a member of First Baptist Church of Excelsior Springs, where she taught Sunday School for many years. Jean had also volunteered as a Gray Lady at Excelsior Springs Hospital. Jean was a caregiver to many from her parents to friends and neighbors over the years. Jean was known for her beautiful dimples and her infectious laugh.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers, Marshall Scott, Willard Scott, and Robert Scott.
Survivors include her son, David Lynch; daughter, Gail Houston; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Jean was loved by all who knew her and will be missed.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, Mo., with visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow service at Crown Hill Cemetery, Excelsior Springs.
