James "Buck" Murphy
James “Buck” Murphy, 88, Kearney, Mo., departed this life at Liberty Hospital on May 18, 2010. He was born in Tennessee to parents Willie Raymond and Nora Hazel Murphy, who preceded him in death along with three brothers and one sister.
Buck leaves his wife, Myrt Murphy, of the home; sons, Jerry Maxwell (Carla) of Kearney, Jeff Murphy (Carrie) of Florida and Stacey Murphy (Teresa) of Liberty, Mo. He leaves eight grandchildren, Jason, Justin and Kylee Maxwell, Jessica Millie (Donnie), Jaxson and Aaron Murphy, and Tyler and Corey Murphy; one brother, Jack; and one sisterl, Shirley Ann. Buck was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved to garden. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Cloues for four and a half years.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 21, at Mt. Olivet in Kearney, Mo. Arrangements are through Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Kearney.
