Jean Ottolee Olsen
Jean Ottolee Olsen, 81, Lawson, Mo., passed away October 3, 2014 at her home.
Jean was born February 19, 1933 to Cleo and Phleta (West) Crowder in Winston, Mo. Jean was known as Grandma to most people. Grandma enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, and going out to eat. She was a happy woman who would rather do for others than for herself.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don Olsen; son, Larry Don Olsen; daughter, Phleta Sue Schuette; an infant sister, Rosalee Crowder; and brother; Max Crowder.
She is survived by her son, Rickey Olsen; granddaughter whom she raised as a daughter, Melissa and husband, Charles Barker; grandson, Michael Olsen; granddaughters, Makenzie and Morgan Schuette; great grandchildren, Madison Bush, Kollin and Caitlyn Cline, Jordan and Andrew Barker; and her dog, Pepe.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 12, 2014 with visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. prior at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, Mo. Private family burial will be at a later date at Winston Cemetery, Winston, Mo.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital.
