Joyce L. Oyen
Joyce L. Oyen, 69, of Liberty, Mo., passed away April 16, 2013 at her home. Joyce was born February 6, 1944 to Robert and Lorene Hansen Klein in Dubuque, Iowa. On August 18, 1970, Joyce married Kenneth M. Oyen. To this union, two children were born, Sarah Oyen and Jacob Oyen.
Joyce was a dedicated mom, church member, teacher and active in the Liberty, Mo., community. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church of Excelsior Springs, former Liberty School Board Member, Board Member of Concerned Care, as well as a member of the Liberty Hills Country Club.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Francis A. Klein and Joan M. Klein.
Survivors include her husband, Ken Oyen; daughter, Sarah R. Oyen; son, Jacob C. Oyen; siblings, Robert and Dorothy Klein, Lavonne and Richard Theis, Virginia and Eldon Wilgenbusch, Norma and Donald Wilgenbusch, Vernon and Connie Klein, Wayne Klein, James Klein, and Marikay and Tracy Klein Anderson.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at St. Ann Catholic Church, Excelsior Springs, Mo., with burial to follow at Resurrection North Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Donations may be made to Concerned Care of North Kansas City.
