Norman "Jack" Porter
Jack Porter, 82, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at Liberty Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Jack was born July 7, 1933 in Fleming, Mo., to Yewl and Mary Porter.
He was a Mason and worked for Swearingin Construction in Lawson, Mo., before retiring in 1995. Jack enjoyed hunting, gardening, building doll houses and was an avid fisherman.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bobby Porter of Liberty, Mo.; two sisters, Freda Green of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Loretta Hutchison of California, Mo.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Porter, of the home; daughters, Tammy Porter of Independence, Mo., Mary Porter Aguirre of Kansas City, Mo., and step-daughter, Sandy Teegarden of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; two sons, Jack Johnson of Liberty, Mo., and Tucker Porter of St. Joseph, Mo.; one brother, Donnie Porter of Polo, Mo.; as well as 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 100 New Garden Road and 10 Hwy., Excelsior Springs, Mo.
Arrangements are through Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
