John Norman Spidle
John Norman Spidle, age 80, of Kansas City, Kans., passed away peacefully at his residence on August 31, 2015. He was born February 12, 1935 to Lloyd (Jack) and Esther Harper Spidle in Breckenridge, Mo. He graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1953 and married Dorothy Louise Switzer in 1955.
He worked for the Missouri State Highway Maintenance Department and the Salvation Army during his work career. Since 2006 he has resided at the Delaware Highlands Center in Kansas City, Kans.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Nathaleen and Fina Kinne; and great grandson, Zachary John O’Brien.
He is survived by his sons, Bruce of Hesston, Kans., and Ron of Lake Viking, Mo., their wives, Mary Ann and Kim; grandchildren, Mandi Hemry (Mark), Gwen O’Brien (Jeremy), Brian Spidle, Allison Dobric (Nenad), Denise DeBelius (Dan), Jason Spidle, David Spidle, and Stephen Spidle; along with great grandchildren, Claire, Brett, and Reid Hemry, Justin, Leo, and Will O’Brien, Isaac DeBelius, and Milena Dobric. He is also survived by sister, Nigel Hall and her husband, Ralph, and brother, Nevin Spidle and his wife, Tammy.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, September 9, 2015 at the Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, 208 S. Jefferson, Kearney, Mo., from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A private graveside family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Salvation Army of Kansas City, Mo.
