Jack Andrew Wolters
Jack Andrew Wolters was born March 31, 1999 to Jared and Stephanie Wolters, from Kearney, Mo. He met the Lord Jesus Christ on November 25, 2016 at the age of 17.
While living in Kearney, Jack attended St. James Catholic School and Kearney Public Schools. He planned to go to college and pursue a degree in Computer Engineering.
Jack was an avid lover of books, nature, animals, video games and memes. He ran cross country and track. He was a fearless person and willing to take risks. He was an exciting person to be around. He strived to include everyone and make them laugh. He always had a hacky sack, deck of cards or frisbee to entertain his friends and family. He was best known for his charming personality and won people over with his eyes, dapper hats and crazy shirts.
Jack loved working with kids. He worked with Kindergartners at church and was a mentor to Kindergartners at Southview last year. He loved Vacation Bible School, youth mission trips and his youth group. He was an alter server for the last 10 years, along with all of his siblings.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Albert Thomas Wolters and Richard Elsworth Bond.
He is survived by his parents, Jared and Stephanie Wolters, Kearney, Mo.; sister, Brooke Wolters; brother, Spencer Wolters; sister, Ella Wolters; grandparents, Wilma Wolters, Gladstone, Mo., and Bill and Linda Livingston, Plattsburg, Mo.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
To honor Jack’s legacy, The Jack Wolters Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established. It will be awarded to a Kearney High School graduate who was an active member of their church community, who lived to serve others, and who had ADHD/ADD. He would like to help kids just like him. He also would like donations to the Church of Annunciation class room expansion to help with the kids he worked so closely with.
Jack will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. He was a fun loving, kind young man. His funeral services will take place at the Church of the Annunciation, Kearney, Mo., as follows:
