Kerri Suzanne Brock

Kerri Suzanne Brock, of Trenton, Mo., passed away on July 12, 2016 after a courageous battle with liver disease.

Kerri was born on January 4, 1971 to David and Opal Lewis of Lawson, Mo. She graduated from William Jewell College in 1992 and married Kenneth Brock on May 30, 1995. The Brocks resided in Lawson and then Kearney, where Kerri was a stay at home mother to her three children.

Anyone who knew Kerri could tell you that the most important thing in her life was family. Kenny, Kennedy, Karissa, and Kael were the greatest loves of her life and every second of every day, she fought to have more time with them. Kerri always protected and took care of her family, and when she grew weak, they did the same for her, a tight, unbreakable unit.

Many knew Kerri for her famous cheesecakes or for the fame she found on the Paradise Playhouse stage, but those close to her knew she was so much more than that. Kerri’s compassion for others was unmatched, her desire to help incomparable. We were all better because we had the good fortune of being loved by her.

Kerri is survived by her husband, Kenneth; three children, Kennedy, Karissa, and Kael; her parents, David and Opal Lewis; her sister, Kaci Monaghan; her sister and brother-in-law, Kristen and Matt O’Hara; her mother and father-in-law, Doug and Linda Brock; her sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Tony Postoak; her grandmothers, Carlene Lewis and Imogene McNeely; nine nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her grandfathers, Pard Lewis and Nevin McNeely.

Funeral services will be held on July 17, 2016 at Tryst Falls Baptist Church in Kearney, Mo. Visitation will be held from noon to 2:00 p.m., funeral will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at Lawson Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Brock Children fund (more info will be provided later) or the liver transplant program at KU Medical Center or St. Luke's Hospital.

Arrangements are through Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
