Kevin H. Due
Kevin H. Due passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Research Medical Center after a lengthy battle with kidney failure. He was a resident of Kansas City, Mo., at the time of his death.
Kevin graduated from High School in Richmond, Mo., then Park College with a degree in History and later earning his Master's degree in Library Sciences and Education. He was employed at Border Star Montessori School in the Kansas City, Mo. He retired in 2012 and was beloved by his fellow educators and students. He was a member of the International Honors Society, Pi Gamma at M.U., Kansas City Federation of Teachers where he served on the executive board for two terms.
He loved to teach, travel and make those around him laugh. He was a prolific family history storyteller. He will be forever remembered for his love of life and positive attitude toward his health afflictions, passion for progressive politics and social justice.
He is preceded in death by his father, Howard Due, his mother Ruby Farmer Due, and his sister, Janice Due White.
He is survived by Rob Grisby, nephew; Ruth Williams, aunt; Donna, constant friend; Jill, second cousin to whom he was more of a brother than a cousin, and several other cousins.
Kevin's Memorial will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the Montgomery Event Hall in Excelsior Springs, Mo. Family and friends will be welcomed. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Kevin's Memorial Fund.
