Kathleen Rebecca
Schoettger-Lupien, 26, passed away October 8, 2012. On the day Katie
was born in Excelsior Springs, Mo., there was a double rainbow. She
lived her life with a giving, happy and loving disposition, and was
known by her smile.
Katie attended Excelsior Springs schools from 1991 to 2000. She
graduated from Fulton High School, Fulton, Mo., with the class of 2005.
She married her high school sweetheart, Russell Lupien from
Millersburg, Mo., at The Elms Hotel in Excelsior Springs on June 20,
2009. She received her undergraduate degree, in health science, in June
2012, from Olympic College, Bremerton, Wash.
She began
working with the San Franciscan Hospital group of hospitals in 2008,
first at St. Joseph Hospital, Tacoma, Wash., and then in 2009 at St.
Anthony Hospital, Gig Harbor, Wash. She recently received special
recommendations for acceptance to Physicians Assistant Masters Degree
program from the doctors she worked with at St. Anthony Hospital.
Kathleen is survived by her husband, Paul Russell Lupien Jr., of Gig
Harbor, Wash.; her parents, David S. Schoettger and Ellen F.
Richardson-Schoettger, and her sister, Megan E. Schoettger, all of
Excelsior Springs, Mo.; her brother, Aaron Christopher Schoettger, of
Federal Way, Wash.; uncle, Christopher J. Richardson, and aunt, Rebecca
J. Richardson and her husband, Michael Froehlich, from the area; aunt,
Lisa M. Schoettger-Price and her husband, C.B. Price, and cousins, Ian,
Alisha, and Christian Price, of Southern Kansas City.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 at
Bross-Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, Mo. Funeral services will
be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 at the First United Methodist
Church, Excelsior Springs, Mo. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in
Jamesport, Mo.
The family suggests donations to The Leukemia Fund in Katie’s honor in
care of the funeral home.
