Kevin J. Smith
Kevin J. Smith, 56, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away May 20, 2013.
Kevin was born April 26, 1957 in Pittsburg, Kans., to Charles and Regina (Madl) Smith. Kevin graduated from Northeast High School in Arma, Kans. and attended Pittsburg State University. On December 16, 1987, Kevin married Norma McDermott. He worked in the construction industry where he installed siding and windows. Kevin was known as a man who loved to help. He volunteered with youth groups, sports groups, and in general was there whenever and wherever he was needed. Kevin was also a man who loved horses.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Charles Smith, and his grandma, Bernice.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Norma Smith; daughters, Shannon Chapman and Kyla Smith; son, Kevin Smith; mother, Regina Smith; brother, Greg Smith; and sister, Linda Smith. Kevin is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Kevin was a man who loved his family and will he will be missed.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday evening, May 23, 2013 at Bross and Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, Mo. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
