Leona Fern Lowe
Leona Fern Lowe, 71, Kearney, Mo., passed away January 3, 2014. Leona was born January 6, 1942 to Leo and Viola (Rice) Zollman in Sheldon, Mo. She married Jim Lowe, April 20, 1963.
She was a member of Kearney First Baptist Church, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school and volunteering for VBS. She and James were Clay County foster parents. Leona also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents; two infant daughters, Leanne and Lora Lowe; and a brother, Ray Calvin Zollman.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; sons, Steve (Cathy), Ron (Shannon), and Jeff (Julie) Lowe; daughter, Jamie (Nick) Richards; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie Henderson and Naomi (David) Hestand.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. prior. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Kearney First Baptist Church Children’s Ministry in lieu of flowers.
