Lyle Marvin Shepard
Lyle Shepard, 89, Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away January 21, 2016.
Lyle was born November 24, 1926 in Chillicothe, Mo., to Seba and Lillian Shepard. On March 26, 1949 he married Wanda O’Dell. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII. Lyle was a member of Old Salem Christian Union Church. He was a man who loved fishing and RV camping.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sons, Wayne and Terry; and brothers, Norman and Loyd Shepard.
Survivors include his son, Will and wife, Lenora Shepard; daughter-in-laws, Juanita and Sabra Shepard; seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and brothers, Everett and Edward Shepard.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Monday, January 25, 2016 at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, Mo. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2016, also at the funeral home. Private burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
