Leo Jay Wagers

Leo Jay Wagers, 33, Kansas City, Mo., was born March 22, 1982 in Odessa, Texas. He was the second oldest of a total of nine children. When he was a young child, the family moved to Missouri. Leo passed away on September 4, 2015 at home.

Leo’s family loved him very much and he will be missed tremendously. He graduated from Winnetonka High School in 2000. He enjoyed many activities, but one of his favorites was to take his children fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family, both immediate and extended.

He is survived by his parents, Beverly Sue (Carl) Hunt of Kansas City, Mo., and Jerry Lee (Mary) Wagers of Maysville, Mo.; two daughters, Angel Wagers and Jalisae Crutchfield-Wagers; three sons, Anthony and Andrew Wagers and Zachariah Crutchfield-Wagers of Kansas City, Mo.; brother, Michael Wright (Viridian Chaney) of Blue Springs, Mo.; sisters, Stacey (Jeremy) Hawkins of Kansas City, Mo., Rosa Breedlove (Corey Strutton) of Sugar Creek, Mo., Heather Hunt (Jon Hounshell) and Rebecca Hunt (Sean McAlister) of Kansas City, Mo., Christine Wagers (Chris Owens) of Gladstone, Mo., and Janet Wagers of Olean, N.Y.; numerous nieces and nephews; grandparents, William (Donna) Wagers, Okal (Clara) Hunt, and Elvera Crow; aunts and uncles, Teresa (Dan) Page, Marilyn (Bill) Schmoker, Peggy (Bob) Zigweid, Arnold (Patti) Hunt, Brian (Linda) Hunt, Ellen (Dan) Geist, Glenn (Marie) Wagers, Sherry (Mark) Johnson, Crystal (Jim) Verdenburgh, Angie (Karl) Lindholm, Ellen (Dean) Blanton, Emma Utz, Tom Ulmer, James (Lois) Ulmer, and Sylvia Wicker; and numerous cousins.

Leo was preceded in death by his son, Adam Wagers, and his maternal grandparents, Frank and Margaret Wright.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 11, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. and the funeral will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Fry-Bross and Spidle Funeral Home, 208 S. Jefferson, Kearney, Missouri 64060.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
