Lewis Wallace
Lewis D. Wallace, 94. Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010. Lewis served during World War II in the Army as a sergeant. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and daughter. Lewis always said: “He would walk a mile for their smile,” referring to the staff at Valley Manor for their exceptional care and personal service that Care Alternatives gave to him in his last hours. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 1, at the State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Mo. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs.
