Laura "Maxine" Stewart
Laura "Maxine" Stewart, 70, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away September 22, 2014.
Maxine was born May 7, 1944 to Herman Ray and Fannie (Stevenson) Hyatt in Starfield, Mo. On August 18, 1962 Maxine married James Stewart. Maxine worked as a cook at various places during her adult life. She loved bowling and was a member of the USBC Bowling CO-OP. She also loved cake making and decorating, embroidery, and garage sales. Most of all, Maxine loved her family.
Maxine is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, James; two daughters, Sharon and Dallas Mansker, and Karen and Mike McCrackin; two sons, James Ray and Krystyna Stewart, and John and Brooke Stewart; brother, John Hyatt; sisters, Mary Derstler and Betty Wightman; six grandchildren, Cassie Marie McCrackin, Cody Michael McCrackin, Calvin Ray Stewart, Dylyn Eugene Deavers, Daryanna Faye Huffman, and Cayden Michael-Leslee Stewart.
Maxine will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral service for Maxine will be held Friday, September 26, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Kearney, Mo., with burial to follow at Providence Cemetery in Kansas City, Mo. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 25, 2014 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the family.
