Martha Lee Butts
Martha Lee Butts, of Kearney, Mo., passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014.
Martha was born September 19, 1928 in Wanda, Mo., to Lyford and India (Elmore) Cole. On June 4, 1953 Martha married Ramon Butts in Joplin, Mo. They were married 60 wonderful years. Martha worked as a secretary in state government. She was also an active member of First United Methodist Church in Kearney, Eastern Star, and was a volunteer at Liberty Hospital for 17 years. Martha loved singing and was always active in her church choir.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents and brother, J.E. Cole.
Survivors include her husband, Ramon Butts of the home; sons, Paul Butts and Steve and Terri Butts; daughter, Rama and Alan Box; sister, Mary Eberhard; and grandchildren, Chris, Jennifer, Nathan, and Garrett.
Martha will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 at First United Methodist Church in Kearney, Mo. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church.
