Margaret Geraldine Hall
“Some glad morning when this life is over, I’ll fly away."
Gerri Hall, 90, of Kearney, did just that September 18, 2012, truly loved, respected, and missed by all who knew her. Born in Nashua, Mo., March 30, 1922 to William A. and Margaret J. Denney, Gerri and her family, moved to Kearney in 1935, where she met her future husband of 70 years, Robert James Hall.
Preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three brothers, she is survived by children, Rosa Lee (John) Ritter of Eagle River, Alaska; Gary Hall of Overland Park, Kans., and Joe Hall of the home, as well as sister, June Farner, and sister in law, Helen Griffey; seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
For over twenty five years, Gerri gleefully greeted thousands of students with an infectious smile, where she worked in the cafeteria at the Kearney Elementary, and High Schools, from which she retired. Dry humor, extremely wise and witty, kind, and genuinely caring, she loved all her “kids”.
Gerri loved and served her God openly and faithfully as a member of the First Christian Church, 2151 South Jefferson, Kearney, Mo. 64060, where her Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2012, preceded by a family and friends greeting at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions, in her memory, to the church. Cremation and private burial.
