Michael Raybourn
Michael Clay Raybourn, 16, was born November 14, 1996 in Kansas City, Mo., to Brian Clay and Melissa Ann Raybourn. They survive of the home. He went to be with Jesus on March 23, 2013.
Michael was a sophomore at Excelsior Springs High School. Football was his passion. He played varsity at the school, as well as wrestled on their varsity team and lettered in both. He also enjoyed fishing, lifting weights, shooting hoops on the basketball court, video games, movies, hanging out with his friends and family and eating. He was a prankster. He loved to laugh and had an infectious smile. Once he set a goal for himself he didn’t stop until it was accomplished. He had great aspirations and a bright future ahead of him. He wanted to play football for USC and be drafted into the pros. He was an all around great kid. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Joey Carr, Independence, Mo.; one very devoted and loving sister, Stephanie Raybourn, of the home; maternal grandma, Ramona (Steve) Landreth; uncles, Martin (Robin) Payne, Riverside, Mo., Wayne (Tina) Raybourn, Deepwater, Mo., Donnie (Savina) Raybourn, Kansas City, Mo., Ronnie Raybourn, Lenexa, Kans.; aunt, Sheryl Raybourn, Kansas City, Mo.; and his girlfriend, Lela Moore, Excelsior Springs, Mo. He also leaves many cousins and extended family.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013 at Pisgah Baptist Church, 112 Pisgah Dr., Excelsior Springs. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the church, followed by burial at Pisgah Cemetery, Excelsior Springs.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
