Michael Earnest Riddle, 50 years, 2 months and 5 days, passed away February 4, 2013. Michael was born November 29, 1962. He loved his family unconditionally, always had a smile on his face, never met a stranger, was the first to help anyone, and was a happy child. Mike loved cars, racing, and hunting.

As a boy, Mike joined the Boy Scouts as a Cub Scout and eventually went all the way to Eagle Scout. Scout Camp with the Mic-O-Say Tribe was always a fun time. Mike was baptized at the age of 12 at Glenwood Baptist Church in Kansas City North. Mike graduated from Kearney High School in 1981.

Mike married Glinda Humphrey on November 27, 1982. Their first child, Timothy Earnest, was born in 1983. In 1983 they moved to Dallas. Their second child, Amanda Sue, was born in 1985. Mike worked for Overnight Transportation for 22 years. In those 22 years, Mike drove coast to coast and in the Dallas-Sherman area.

Mike loved to build and drive race cars. He loved to meet and visit with famous drivers such as Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. Mike also loved to collect racing memorabilia.

Due to failing health, Mike moved to Kearney, Mo., in 2010. In Kearney he lived with his mom and dad, Virgil and Carolyn Riddle.

Mike leaves behind his mom and step-dad, Rose and Gail Roquet; dad and step-mom, Virgil and Carolyn Riddle; son, Tim and Mallory; daughter, Amanda and Steven; sister, Michelle and Rodney; step-brother, Jamie; and step-sister, Melodie. Mike also leaves behind four grandchildren, Shayden, Chloee, Blaine, and Kendall. Grandchildren were the light of Mike’s life. They meant everything to him. He attended their activities as much as possible. Mike is also survived by several nieces and nephews; uncles, Jack, Jerry, and Merle Bates; aunt, Alice Sue and Junior Dobbins; and grandmother, Twyla Bates..

Mike had recently started attending First Baptist Church in Kearney. He will be missed by all.

Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. on February 9, 2013 at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney, Mo. Friends may call from 5:30 to 7 p.m. prior to the service. Cremation. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family in Mike’s memory.
