Mary Ruth Summers
Mary Ruth Summers, 86, a lifelong resident of Excelsior Springs, passed away May 17, 2013.
Mary was born December 25, 1926, the daughter of Charles Austin and Emma Denny Jesse in Excelsior Springs, Mo. After graduation, she attended college in Fayette and Warrensburg, Mo. Mary was a housewife, and she enjoyed music, playing the piano, quilting, crafts, and baking. She was also a member of The Church at Detroit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lindell C. Summers in 1990, and her sister, Erma Thomas.
She is survived by her children, Judy (Wayne) Hatcher, William Summers, Dennis (Patty) Summers, all of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Linda (Ben) Mott of Detroit, Mich.; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2013, also at the funeral home, with burial following at North New Garden Cemetery Excelsior Springs, Mo.
