Melba Jean Tate
Melba Jean Tate, 65, of Richmond, Mo., passed away Thursday, February 6, 2014, at North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her father, Archie Grayson, and mother, Lorraine Wilson.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Tate, of the home; her son, Frank Andrews and his wife, Tina Andrews, of Greenwood, Mo.; two grandsons; sisters, Linda Burns, of Belton, Mo., Debra Wilson and Audrey Montgomery, both of Lebanon, Mo.; brothers, Freddy Grayson, of Florida, Don Wilson, of Lebanon, Mo., and James Wilson, of Marshfield, Mo.
Memorial services for Melba will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at the Unity Temple, 707 W. 47th St., Kansas City, MO, under direction of the Kansas City Chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous. Melba was the Executive Director of the Kansas City Central Office of Alcoholics Anonymous for many years and dedicated her life to serving and helping others.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up for donations to be made to “The Melba J. Tate Family” at Bank of Lee’s Summit, 1021 Sam Walton Ln., Lee’s Summit, MO 64086 to assist with expenses.
