Opal Irene (Orene Pierce) Hutton

Opal (Orene) Hutton passed peacefully to her heavenly reward on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at the Northcare Hospice House.

Opal was born on September 29, 1916 to George Floyd and Edna Dell (Burke) Pierce near Maysville, Mo. After attending several country schools, they moved near King City where she graduated in 1935.

She married Glenn Hutton on May 18, 1935 and they were the parents of four children, Glenda, Carol, Gary and Judy.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Glenn Hutton; son, Gary Pierce Hutton; two brothers, George Floyd (Junior) Pierce, William Charles (Bill) Pierce, and sister, Aletha Fern Faris.

Survivors include three daughters, Glenda Christie and husband, Charles, Carol Mansil and husband, Thomas, Judy Meyer and husband, Steve; one sister, Norma Jeanne (Courtney) Peacock; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2014 at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, Mo. There will also be a visitation at Roberson Funeral Home in King City, Mo., on Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 10 to 11:30 a.m., with burial services immediately following at King City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Northcare Hospice or donor’s choice.
