Pete Kingery
Pete Kingery, 81, Kearney, Mo., passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015.
Pete was born July 22, 1933 to Peter Clarence, Sr. and Lora Mae Kingery in Kearney, Mo. He graduated from Kearney High School and attended Chillicothe Business College. Pete was a U.S. Army Veteran. He had a 30-year career with the Department of Defense.
Pete had many hobbies. He spent his time at the Jesse James Farm and Museum as Historical Interpreter, enjoyed rock collecting, woodworking, and wrote four books.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Kingery; and a sister, Thelma Richey.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Cordie; son, Drew (Carol) Kingery; daughter, Lora (Bob Whitacre) Kingery; and sister, Erma Nell Kennell.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 14, with visitation one hour prior at Tryst Falls Baptist Church, where Pete was a founding member. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial be made to Friends of Jesse James Farm.
Arrangements are through Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney, Mo.
