Pauline Upp
Pauline Upp, 84, of Pleasant Valley, Mo., passed away July 14, 2012.
Pauline was born in Kansas City on October 16, 1927 to Leta Mills McKelvy and Harry A. McKelvy. She graduated from East High School in 1945. She married Fred L. Upp, Jr. on June 17, 1945 and together they raised five children. She loved her children and friends from Wesley United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and enjoyed singing duets with Ann Miller. After moving to Holt, Mo., she enjoyed china painting and hosting Sunday School socials and family reunions at their home. She was a devoted Christian, supported many missionaries, and was a woman of deep faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Curtie Sue Hawes, husband, Fred L. Upp, Jr., son, Frederick Laru Upp, III, grandsons, David and Daniel Upp, granddaughter, Kristen Leigh Kern, and son-in-law, James A. Caldwell.
Survivors include children, Edd (Sandy) Upp, Judith Caldwell, Patricia (John) Kern, Marlene (Steve ) Littleton, and Wanda (Doug) Gibson, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, brothers-and sister-in-law, many friends and extended family members.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at First Baptist Church, Kearney with services following at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Mr. Olivet Cemetery, Kearney. In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations to First Baptist Church Missions Fund or Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Missions Fund in honor of her grandchildren who are involved with mission trips.
